Paper craft is fascinating, especially if you’re upcycling and giving it a second life. Here’s something useful to make using phone books, since most people use the internet to look up phone numbers and addresses. Phone book pages are not too think, not too thick – perfect for folding and rolling.

I like combining the yellow pages with the white ones in different ways to make them more fun.  So these were not painted, but they have a couple of coats of varnish to prevent the paper from getting wet.

Do you have any instructions on how you did this? I’ve seen them around Pinterest but all the links are broken and this is the only one that wasn’t, but I don’t know how to put these together. Thanks!

Jessica, I don’t have instructions, because I learned how to make them with my mother. So you found one of my coaster pics on Pinterest? That’s cool. I need to head over there, thanks for reminding me.

I can create a tutorial with pictures or a video with instructions on how to make these, if you’re interested. I’ve been thinking about doing that for my newspaper/phone book pages objects.

I’m in Portland for a week – I come back home next Wed. I’ll be able to look into making a tutorial then. If you want to send me your contact info, I’ll make sure I let you know when I have instructions ready. Or you can check again in about a week or so.

    Thanks for your interest!
