Paper cutting + acrylics

I’ve been doing a wee bit of paper cutting lately. Like the one I used on this painting.

Yesterday I made a simple drawing on copy paper and I placed both parts – what I cut and the background – over some of my paintings which had been done on watercolor paper.

I didn’t glue down any of them. Just kept experimenting with the different backgrounds.

And I also tried it on a black place mat I have. Black is always a “back-to-basics” kind of chic. On this one, I used the actual figures I cut off, instead of the background.

A few of the petals came off, but we’ll just say that I  - ahem – cut them like that on purpose, to portray the idea that they are flowing in the wind…. you know, like the answer, my friend   :)
